Mesquite Public Safety Training Center
Mesquite, Texas
Project Overview
Phase I of this dual-environment campus represents a strategic investment in first responder proficiency and health. FDCS served as the owner’s representative, overseeing construction to ensure a seamless, biologically secure transition between high-intensity field training and advanced classroom instruction.
Key Deliverables
Advanced Health & Safety: Directed the integration of dedicated decontamination zones, isolating field carcinogens and particulates before personnel enter the administrative core.
Specialized Tactical Infrastructure: Oversaw construction of the four-story CMU burn tower, verifying that the high-liability structure was engineered for repetitive thermal stress and diverse rescue scenarios.
Future-Proof Planning: Managed the delivery of a 51-student classroom facility while proactively installing underground utility infrastructure to scale for future phases without costly retrofits.
Fiscal Stewardship: Served as the central technical hub between municipal leadership and contractors, rigorously managing change orders to bring Phase I in on time and within budget.
